Forte Plugin Available for testing

Post by hackish » Fri Nov 11, 2011 8:36 am

I have tested a new plugin to read/write the Kia Forte ECU. Anyone interested in running a test read on their vehicle please contact me via PM and I'll set you up.

Hello Michael,
I have a 2006 Kia Spectra EX - Bone Stock automatic that I can volunteer to hookup to for ECU read/write access. It is similar to the Kia Forte. Just another car to add to the list if you would like.
Thanks quarkdude

If you're in the ottawa area I could definitely give it a try. Can't promise that I'll develop a reflash for the spectra.

Hello Michael,
I tried to PM you but the system says I don't have enough posts to do that so I just put a response here. Unfortunately I am in Albuquerque, NM USA with the 2006 Kia Spectra EX. If you want I could borrow a Tactrix 2.0 cable from the Club4g and do it thru email if that sounds acceptable.
Thanks, quarkdude

Can you start by taking some detailed photos of your ECU and its plugs and labels just to confirm that it's the same unit? I could give you direction on adding some wires so you could read your ECU remotely.

Hello Michael,
No problem. I'll take some pics of the ECU,plugs and labels to verify it's the same as the Forte. Where should I send the pics to?
Thanks, quarkdude
