tune for gs ripp supercharger

Post by tmoney » Wed Nov 19, 2014 7:41 pm

Do you have a tune for running a ripp supercharger? I have a chance to buy one soon. The price is right, and I'm hoping for 275-300whp with my full bolt on set up running 94octane. ???

I do have a tune that would form a good basemap but with any sort of forced induction you really need to get someone to properly tune it. The trouble with the kit is that the MAF design wasn't very good so many times people have to redesign it slightly.

What about datalogging. Can you fine tune based on that?
I am from edmonton and don't know any good mitsu tuners.
My bolt on mod list includes everything shy of udp (sc) including gt proflow tb, tb spacer and intake spacer. Will be running subaru pinks, upgraded fuel pump, bov, and intercooler. Car is a manual.

I can get it close with datalogging but it's best to wait until the next version is released as logging is far easier to use.

Sounds good! I am hoping to have my set up for may/june. Do you anticipate having this ready by then? Also, is there a specific injector you recommend for tuning? I was looking at the subaru 550cc pinks.

Most guys use the blue top WRX injectors from a 2002. At 420cc each they allow a nice streetable gain in power potential and they're inexpensive. The STi pinks are also good as long as you make sure they're genuine. I have seen several sets of knockoff injectors and the flow was different by a good 25% from one injector to the next.

Noted. Thanks for the advice. Do you anticipate the software upgrade being ready for spring/summer?

I'm expecting the latest upgrade to be out by the end of the month.

I have looked into a few options. You suggested the vortech bypass valve. What if i go to a stage 2 pulley from the start? The kit comes with hks bov piping and i have access to a ssqv bov at a good price. I do not want to sacrifice performance, but is this a good option at 12 psi?

On a side note. My gt tb is ported to 69mm with a spacer and intake mani spacer.

Usually with that option you run out of MAF flow. I was really trying to get a speed density tune done on Erik's car but that didn't happen so I can't promise that to you. Otherwise a 3.5" MAF housing maybe?
